DESCRIPTION OF THE CONTENTS OF THE MODULE

The course takes its offspring in Centre for Sports and Architecture’s research in urban spaces and their effect on physical activity. Through a series of articles and lectures, the course introduces examples of physical planning that, each in their way, add “activity spaces” in the urban context. Besides the provided examples, the students will be asked to search for and compare equivalent projects.

The course is concluded with a written assignment in the form of an article, accounting for architecture’s impact on physical activity, and the new urban space’s influence on social life and environment on both the community level as well as the societal aspects.
